There is no more personal and impactful way to help animals than by becoming a foster parent, and Southern Pines has a variety of foster opportunities to help save more lives than ever before! From opening your home to an underage puppy or kitten, to becoming an Adoption Ambassador -- there are so many ways to foster and every one means the world to an animal in need. Fosters play a vital role in the life of their foster animals and are a critical component to the success of the Southern Pines Animal Shelter mission as a whole. Simply put, fosters help save lives.
Southern Pines provides all of the supplies and medical care for our foster animals as well as ongoing training and support for all fosters. Fosters receive 1-3 volunteer hours per animal per day depending on the number of animals fostered and the type of care they require.
